How to make Wheat Poori?

Hearty Welcome!
Lets see how to make Wheat Poori. Before getting into the procedure, let us know about the essentials of wheat. Wheat is the most important staple food for humans. In North India wheat dominates the other grains (their main food is chapati). It is well known for its high protein and its fibrous nature. Now go ahead with the Poori preparing method!



Ingredients:

Wheat flour - 1/2kg
Oil - 1/2 l
Salt (as per your wish)


Procedure:

  • Heat 2 spoons of oil
  • Mix it with the wheat flour and add pinch of salt to it.
  • Make dough by adding, water little by little.
  • Knead the dough of 5-10 minutes to get the exact consistency.
  • Make small balls as shown in the picture.
  • Roll the balls in circular movements to get 4" circles (literally called as Indian Flat bread).
  • Heat the oil in a pan and allow it to smoke.
  • Deep fry it in Oil. Turn the poori using slotted spoon  (Make sure that, both the sides should be exposed to Oil alternatively).
  • 'Serve it Hot'


Tips:
  • Drain out the oil completely, using a tissue paper, before serving.
  • Serve Poori along with Dhal, Kuruma, Veg Gravy etc.
  • You could also serve along with Jam, Sauce etc.
