Peas Kuruma

Hi friends!
         Green peas are prevalent in Indian food items, since it is rich in vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and especially ascorbic acid( Vitamin C). Peas kuruma is one of the famous food varieties which comes under starters(side dishes) category. Now lets see how to make delicious peas kuruma.




Ingredients:
  • Peas - 100gms
  • Carrot - 100gms
  • Beans - 100gms
  • Oil - 1 ladle
  • Fennel seeds - 1/2 spoon
  • Cloves - 4
  • Cinnamon - small piece
  • Onion - 4
  • Tomatoes - 3
  • Green Chillies - 4
  • Chilly powder- 1 spoon
  • Coconut scrape - 1 cup
  • Salt (as per your wish) 



Procedure:

  • Soak peas in water if it is dried.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and saute the Fennel seeds, Cloves and Cinnamon until it becomes golden brown.
  • Add chopped Onions and Chillies.
  • Then add Tomatoes, Turmeric powder, Chilly powder and Salt.
  • Saute until the tomato get smashed completely
  • Add Vegetables (add after you could smell a spicy flavor) and pour sufficient amount of water.
  • Leave it in a medium flame for 15 minutes.
  • Grind the scrapped coconut and add it with the cooked content.
  • Garnish it with the coriander leaves and serve it hot.

Note:
  • Cashew nuts can be mixed with the coconut scrapes while grinding for rich flavor.
  •  Peas Kuruma can be served as a starter along with chappati, poori, bread toast etc.
