Today we are going to check the recipe of Mochai Payaru Kuzhambu, that is the field beans gravy. This recipe is simple and it takes thirty minutes to prepare. As we know field beans is rich in protein , it will be good for growing children. I learnt this recipe from my mom and my children
like it with dosa. Let us move on to the recipe now.
Mochai Payaru Kuzhambu Recipe
Ingredients :

Mochai Payaru Kuzhambu Recipe
Ingredients :
- 1 cup, Mochai Payaru[Field Beans]
- 4 Onions
- 4 Tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon, turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoons, chilly powder
- Tamarin, a lemon sized ball
- 2 teaspoons, coriander powder
- Required oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon, mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon, Ural dhal
- A small bunch of curry leaves
- 1 Drumstick
- 2 Brinjals
Procedure :
- First cook the Mochai Payaru [Field Beans] in a pressure cooker. Drain water and keep aside.
- In a hot frying pan add 1 table spoon of oil .
- Add mustard seeds, urad dhal and curry Leaves .
- Add chopped onions and saute well till it becomes golden brown .
- Now add chopped the tomatoes and saute it for 2 minutes with salt and turmeric Powder .
- Add the tamarind extract, chilly powder and coriander powder.
- Wait till it comes to a boiling state and reduce the flame of the stove. It needs another 15 minutes in low flame for proper cooking.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves or as you wish
Note :
Mochai Payaru [ Field Beans ] should be boiled till it becomes soft on the inside for easy digestion.
