Wish you happy new year. Today we'll see how to prepare moong dal payasam.
Moong dal payasam
Ingredients:
- 250g of moong dal
- 250g of jaggery
- a cup of scrapped coconut
- 3 tsp ghee
- cashew nuts
- A pinch of cardamom powder
Procedure:
Prepare moong dal payasam and have a great evening .
- scrap the jaggery.
- Take a pan and add the scrapped jaggery and water and stir it continuously in a small flame, till the jaggery dissolved completely in water. Remove from heat and filter it and set aside.
- Take a thick bottomed vessel and dry roast the moong dal. Stir continuously till moon dal turns golden brown.
- Add water and boil it until the moong dal becomes soft.
- Now add the scrapped coconut and mix them well.
- In a sauce pan fry the cashews in ghee and add it with the moong dal.
- Add a pinch of cardamom powder and the jaggery syrup and mix them.
- wait till it boils.
- remove from heat.
- Now moong dal payasam is ready to serve.
- It can be serve as an evening refreshment. It occupies important place in full meals also.
