Cucumber Ritha / Vellarikkai Pachadi

Hello friends,
Today I'm going to share with you a simple recipe. Its easy to prepare. And that too with out fire. I can see smile on your face. Yes in this hot summer no one likes to stand in front of stove for a long time. For such people I want to remind cucumber recipe. Not only for that, as I told you in the previous recipe, we have to eat the juicy vegetables like cucumber, pumpkin, bottle gourd, carrot, radish etc.
cucumber contains 95% water and it is one of the sources of vitamin B . We can eat cucumber with the skin too. In south Tamil Nadu cucumbers are very tasty, when we eat with the skin. But in other places, it tastes little bit bitter. So we do not want to eat with the skin. But we can use such peeled cucumber skin for our skin and hair health, as it cools our body. O.K Lets see how to prepare cucumber ritha.

                                          Cucumber Ritha / Vellarikkai pachadi

Ingredients:
  •  Cucumber
  • Curd
  • Pepper powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
 Preparation:
  • Wash the cucumbers.
  • Peel off the skin
  •  Scrape the cucumbers.
  • Take curd in a bowl and add the scrapped cucumber, pepper powder, cumin powder and salt to it. Mix them well. Refrigerate it for some time and serve it cool.
Note:
  • Use always newly made curd for cucumber ritha. That is , it should be without sour taste.
  • Taste the cucumber before you add them in the curd. Because some cucumbers are bitter in taste.
  • Even we can add chat masala  in the ritha.
  • Instead of cucumber, we can add carrot also.
