Beetroot Priyal

Hello friends,
               I've been posting many healthy and tasty dishes, here is one more on the list. Beetroot has the property of reducing high blood pressure and it fights against heart diseases and increases blood flow to the brain. I don't want to waste any more time. Lets jump in to the recipe.

  • 250g of Beet root
  • 3tspof cooking oil
  • 1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp of split black gram
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 Onion
  • Curry leaves
  • 1tsp of red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp of coriander powder
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • 2 pieces of coconut
  • Salt to taste

  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, split black gram and wait till it splutter.
  • Crushed garlic and the curry leaves should be added.
  • Add chopped onion to it and fry it till it turns golden brown.
  • Add peeled and chopped beetroot and pour required water.
  • Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt with the beetroot and mix well.
  • Wait till its starts to boil, close the pan with the lid and cook the beetroot in simmer for fifteen minutes.
  • Then add scrapped coconut and mix well for two minutes.
  • Garnish as you wish. Beetroot poriyal is all ready to serve now.
Serve with:
             It goes well with any gravy rice or variety rice
             When you add water, make sure that the beetroot is submerged.

Try it, it brings bright color with sweet and spicy taste to the meals.
