How to Make Potato Fry?

Hi Friends!
Today we are going to see the delicious potato fry recepie. Potato fry is the famous and yummy Indian food item. People of all ages love to eat potato fry as a side dish or loves to eat as it is. Potato is rich in starch and hence it is good for health (even for children). Lets go ahead with the simple and delicious Potato fry recepie!

Potato Fry


  • Potato - 1/4 kg
  • Oil - 1 ladle
  • Mustard seeds - pinch
  • Split Black gram - 1 spoon
  • Garlic - 10 pods
  • Onion - 2
  • Chilly powder - 1 spoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 spoon
  • Turmeric powder - pinch
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt (as per your wish)


  • Peel off the Potatoes, clean it and cut into small pieces ( as small dice).
  • Heat Oil in a non-stick pan and add Mustard seeds (allow it to splutter).
  • Add Split black gram and garlic, saute until it becomes golden brown color.
  • Saute the chopped Onions and Curry leaves.
  • Add the Potato and fry it for 10 minutes.
  • Add  Turmeric powder, Chilly powder, Coriander powder, Salt and fry it for another 10 minutes in a low flame.Here is our delicious potato fry all ready to serve.
Suits with:
 Potato fry suits  as a dish for all rice varieties and we can use it as a stuffing material for chapathi roll.
