Simple South Indian Chicken Gravy

Hello Friends!
We are going to check making procedure for Simple South Indian Chicken Gravy now. Chicken is the most preferable food for the non-vegetarians. It has high protein content and less cholesterol when compared to the other meats. It is also delicious isn't? Come lets jump into the recipe now.

Simple South Indian Chicken Gravy


Chicken - 1/2kg
Oil - 1vladle
Onion - 4
Tomato - 4
Ginger - small piece
Garlic - 2
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon - Small piece
Pepper powder - 1 spoon
Cumin seed powder - 1 spoon
Chilly powder - 3 spoon
Turmeric - 4 spoon
Coriander seed powder - 3 spoon


  • Clean the chicken and soak it in the turmeric water (for germ killing purpose) .
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the chopped onions.
  • Grind the clove, cinnamon, ginger, garlic and tomato together. Make it a fine paste using mixer grinder.
  • Saute this mixture (paste)and the chicken along with onion.
  • Add pepper powder, cumin seed powder, coriander seed powder, turmeric powder and chilly powder.
  • Mix everything together well and add sufficient amount of water.
  • Stir the gravy in a mild flame. When it starts boiling, cover the pan with a lid and allow it to get cooked in a mild flame for 20 minutes.
  • Finally add the coconut paste if you want, else you can serve as it is.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves at top!

Serve the gravy along with rice, chapati and etc.
