Elephant Foot Yam Fry

Hello people,
                                                     Vegetables from roots contain large amount of carbohydrates. They taste good when they are fried. So lets cook Elephant Foot Yam fry today and enjoy. Read my recipe below!

Elephant Foot Yam Fry  
 

Ingredients :
  • 1/2 kg of elephant foot yam
  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon of split black gram
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 onions
  • 1 teaspoon of red chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • Salt, as you need


Procedure :
  • Remove the skin of Elephant Foot Yam, wash it thoroughly with water and chop it into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and split black gram. Wait till seeds pop.
  • Add crushed garlic and curry leaves.
  • Add chopped elephant foot yam and onions and fry them in a reduced flame. Saute it till the onions become golden brown and the elephant foot yam becomes tender.
  • Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and saute it for 5 minutes. Garnish it as you wish.
  • Elephant Foot Yam Fry is ready to eat now!

Serve with:

Elephant Foot Yam fry can be served as a side dish for sambar rice, rasam rice, curd rice and such combination of rice dishes.

Note: 
Please pay more attention to the elephant foot yam when you buy because some times it causes itching sensation in the mouth, otherwise it tastes really yummy!
