Hello friends,
Today we are going check out a recipe called sweet kozhukattai. sweet kozhukattai is very popular in south India. Especially in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Usually sweet kozhukattai is prepared to worship Lord Ganesha on the occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi. Every body like this sweet kozhukattai, because of its taste. Sweet kozhukattai is prepared in the steam and with out oil. So it is good for our health. Lets see the preparation method.

Ingredients:
  • Boiled rice 250 gms
  • Sugar  or jaggery
  • 1/2 grated  coconut
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
Method:
  • Wash and soak rice for two hours, dry it by spreading on a clean cloth after draining the water and powder it in the machine. Instead of this long procedure, we can buy rice powder from the shop.
  • Boil water and mix it with the rice flour and make smooth dough out of it.

  • Now add sugar or jaggery and cardamom powder with the grated coconut and set aside.

  • Now make  a small balls out of the rice dough , flatten its surface and fill the sweet coconut mixer in it and close the dumplings in any shape.

  • Arrange the kozhukattai in the iddly plate and steam the sweet kozhukattai in the iddli pot for ten to fifteen minutes.
  • Now the tasty sweet kozhukattai is ready to serve.

Note:

  • Do not add more sugar or jaggery. If you add more it will leak from the kozhukattai.
  • Close the kozhukzttai with out any crack. Otherwise the filling will come out of kozhukattai.
  • Here I added sugar. We can add jaggery too as it is rich in iron.
Prepare, enjoy and let me know how is sweet kozhukattai!
